Chainsaw bar oil is just one of the high performance forestry bio-lubricants now available from LUBECO New Zealand. We at The Rural have a keen interest in the environment and we know that a lot of readers do so as well. We have many readers that work on farms, own lifestyle blocks or are involved in the rural sector. So when we heard of a new bio lubricant for chainsaws, we thought it would be good time to get some information. Best of all...we have some product to give away! Read on for the entry form. So who are LUBECO New Zealand? LUBECO make and distribute a wide range of high performance, readily biodegradable lubricants. They are specifically developed for forestry and the wood processing industry, where release of mineral oils and lubricants into the natural environment is best avoided. Their products have been the leading bio-lubricants for more than 20 years and the range covers: Oils for “total loss” lubrication of chain saws, stationary power saws, harvesters, lathes and conveyor belts, etc. A full range of vegetable based hydraulic oils [HETG specification] and fully synthetic hydraulic oils [HEES specification], gear oils and synthetic universal greasing oils [UTTO specification]. These products can be used in a vast range of forestry applications as they out-perform the usual mineral oil based lubricants. They are non-toxic, and of course user and environment friendly. All LUBECO products are manufactured in standard viscosity ranges and these can also be customised for individual requirements. A big question for any environmentally conscious consumer would be what are these oils made from and what is the process that goes into their manufacture? The LUBECO vegetable based lubricants are manufactured mainly from cold pressed rapeseed and hi-oleic sunflower. Cold pressing produces an oil with unique properties necessary for high performance technical applications. The naturally present vitamin E is an anti-oxidant and protects against polymerization. All LUBECO synthetic oils are made from a combination of of saturated and unsaturated fatty acids that have excellent performance and anti-oxidative parameters. Also the thermal properties are much greater [pour point up to -50 ° C]. After refining the oils are blended and additives are incorporated according to individual requirements and particular applications. LUBECO have an active oil research programme and work closely with BASF, Rhein-Chemie , Chevron and Evonik, who are the world’s most renowned manufacturers of additives to lubricating oils. Quality control and continuous research is central to their business. Thanks to their own state-of-art laboratory and highly experienced staff LUBECO can guarantee the high quality of their products. All LUBECO products are manufactured in-house and in compliance with ISO 9001 and ISO 14001. You can of course find out even more about the new LUBECO bio oils at their website here. LUBECO have been totally awesome and have given The Rural three great bio oil prize packs to giveaway. Each winner will get a 1 litre bottle of Bar & Chain Oil 100, plus a LUBECO beanie. It all makes sense, you need the bio oil for the chainsaw to cut down the tree, to get the firewood, to keep warm...and the beanie will keep you warm up until that part is completed.
